Ravenwing Studios - a relaxed and friendly recording studio set in the beautiful suffolk countryside.
In theory, yes. Wherever possible we want to include all who wish to submit something to the Fringe, but please bear in mind that there will be constraints due to available planning time, dates and suitable venues. The earlier you approach us with your idea, the more likely it is to be included in the Fringe. Anyone who cannot be fitted in for the 2010 event will be kept on a priority list for 2011. Please note, we will not accept material of an overtly offensive or inappropriate nature for what is ultimately an event aimed at the entire local community, so please bear this in mind when submitting ideas!
First off, email claire@buryfringe.com, giving as much information as possible as you can. Points to include where possible: Do you already have a venue arranged for the event? If not, what capacity and style of venue would you prefer? Do you intend to charge admission, and if so, how much? What is the performance? How many people are involved? Do you already have a full cast or team, or are you still in need of more?
Make sure you include your FULL contact details, otherwise we will not be able to respond to you.
(It is your responsibility to check and reply to any correspondence from the Fringe. If we do not receive a response from you we will assume you are no longer interested in being included.)
You are!! The Fringe is an unfunded organisation, and thus can take no financial responsibility for any individual events. It is up to the venue, promoter and performer/artist to negotiate and cover expenses, and arrange to recoup them where required through appropriate ticket sales or sponsorship.
The Fringe is not charging anyone for registration in 2010, as we are keen to avoid excluding any acts, artists or events who themselves do not have funding. When an event is brought to us with everything already in place and confirmed, we will aim to include it in the Fringe programme without charge. On events where the Fringe is required to act as promoter/producer (matching shows with venues, booking artists on behalf of venues etc) we will negotiate a fee based on a percentage of all door sales, payable immediately after the event has finished. This is to cover our administrative and organisational costs.
All financial arrangements and requirements will be confirmed in the terms of the registration form and contracts for each individual event.
All Fringe events will be publicised via the internet, local press and media coverage, posters, flyers, but most importantly of all, word of mouth! We will do everything we can to garner as much interest and attention for the festival, but we would ask all contributors to assume responsibility promoting their own events, and the festival in general as well. The more publicity, the greater the response, the more likely we are to have a hugely successful and rewarding programme of events!
Yes! Have a look at our inspirations page and see if it gives you some ideas as a performer or promoter, or if you'd like to help 'behind the scenes', there will always be phone calls to make, venues to liase with, posters and flyers to draw and hand out...the list goes on (...and on....and on!). The more the merrier, so don't be afraid to get in touch.
